Health Success As Senior? Yes, Absolutely!

"Happy and Healthy New Year 2014"

Happy New Year 2014 to You! I hope you enjoyed the Holidays.

May the year 2014 be the best ever – for your senior health – and for everything else you wish to have or accomplish.

SeniorHealthSuccess is forging ahead, building on solid, evidence-based developments in nutrition and exercise sciences.

You may be interested to hear that the movement to change to a whole foods, plant-based diet is steadily gaining ground. And for all the right reasons (you find them on my web pages)…

Fortunately, more and more seniors are now realizing the importance of a truly healthful diet.

Just today (12/30/2013) I found a recent poll by the Vegetarian Resource Group saying that now 47 percent of people enjoy vegetarian meals (meatless) a significant amount of time.

The Standard American Diet has led us down the wrong – and sickening - path to become the most overweight, overmedicated, overfed yet malnourished people on earth.

You, we all, deserve better.

A plant-STRONG diet with emphasis on whole foods (unprocessed - or as little processed a possible) is what I recommend for 2014 – unless you decide to adopt a vegetarian (or VEGAN) diet as your best path to your own senior health success. Even better.

Either way, I wholeheartedly support your decision and wish you the very best of health for the New Year.

Exercise is of course the other pillar that supports your well-being. Avoid injury by easing into a new plan of action (or building on your present conditioning). This way you'll have more fun and can keep it fun!

Every week, you can find new health-related information on this site – information that is relevant to you or someone you know, care about or love.

So, I'm encouraging you to not just visit these pages frequently, but to take the New Year (make a resolution – and stick with it) as renewed incentive to realize changes in your diet and exercise lifestyle.

Your health should be optimal. You can make it so.

Your life span should be extended. You can do it.

Your physical independence should be lasting. You can keep it.

Your mental and social health should be vibrant. You can enjoy it.

As you already know, I would very much love to be your guide, supporter and cheerleader.

I firmly believe that it is vital to continuously have something to look forward to. Make time for living! Make time for challenges!

One of the goals of is to show you how to live a longer and healthier life by learning from many different older adults, including centenarians.

You can look forward to lots of encouraging information in future editions of this newsletter.

Yours in good senior health,

Guenter Hauser, CHC, CFT, SSF
