Just look at this -
a positive perception of
aging tends to result in people living
seven and a half years longer (*).
That's how important perception is.
What's that got to do with senior romance?
Whether you're single (widowed, divorced) or in a committed relationship, senior romance certainly is more satisfying (and more desirable) if you have something to look forward to – like a healthy, long, fulfilling, and independent life.
Make sure that dating and romance never end. How?
Take the attitude that you're going to live for a very long time – then take the necessary steps toward achieving this desired longevity.
The two cornerstones are
With a solid foundation like this, romance in your second half of life – including dating and sexual activity – is a tremendously enjoyable experience.
You are now at an age where you can truly take the time to explore the romantic side of you and your partner.
Your children are on their own. Or they should be.
You're retired. Or you could be.
Hopefully, you are in a financially independent position where your mind is not preoccupied with where the next meal comes from. Nothing kills the mood for romance more than money woes.
The time should finally be yours to engage in romantic activity in mid-afternoon, if you so choose.
Romance is one of the great pleasures of life – and for life.
Whether you are in a committed relationship or not, with decades of gradually acquired experience, romantic endeavors can now play a more dominant role in your life.
With more balanced emotions you can focus on your loving relationship.
It's a personal choice how you want to grow old. You'll never be too old to be romantic.
As you get older you can decide to not let a few wrinkles or gravity interfere with your desire to live your "Golden Years" filled with pleasure and romance.
Science is clearly showing that – based on a well-maintained healthy body and mind – things should not decline as previously thought.
These are all good things, as research has also shown that thinking any differently may actually shorten your life.
And, as mentioned in the opening paragraph, a positive perception extends life. Yes, this is a big deal.
Senior romance offers an incredible cornucopia of beneficial side effects.
Did you know that many of what used to be considered signs of aging are actually just signs of disease? Your willingness to exercise and eat a healthy diet will help alleviate this.
Make sure you have something exciting to look forward to that will get you up in the morning – or invite you to stay in bed. Like senior romance.
It will put a smile on your face.
P.S. If you're not in a romantic relationship now, consider reading this book.
It'll show you how worthwhile senior life can be.
